So you’re ready to get started on a new brand, but have some ifs and buts?

These FAQs should answer them for you…

(However it’s worth noting that we predominantly work with SME’s – and we’ve learn that budget and timeline have to be realistic for their size, industry and target market. Bigger re-brand jobs will obviously be more time consuming, so the below can be very dependent on the type of business.)

How long does it take?

Factor in approximately five weeks from the briefing meeting to final file supply. The below timeline shows the best-case scenario and has proved to be fairly accurate when it comes to branding a business with ninetyblack.

Good things take time. But given that client feedback is provided within timely manner you could be launching your brand-new logo in less than a month from the brief meeting.

What if your branding packages don’t match my needs?

If you’ve already had a look at our branding packages, but feel that you don’t need all of the inclusions or there’s not enough, don’t worry. We know that one size doesn’t fit all and we can tailor our packages to fit your business’ needs. Contact us or call in to discuss your project and receive a custom package.

What happens if I don’t like any of the concepts?

Before we start on any logo concepts we will make sure we really understand you, your business and your design brief. We’ll then visually translate that brief. Understand that concepts are a starting point and an opportunity to get your input and feedback. You don’t necessarily have to love them, that’s why we have time for ‘revision and development’, because design is subjective, and a lot of transformation can occur in this step. So if you don’t love the concept don’t be worried – we’re not. The goal of the revision is to get the brand perfect. Just know that our proposals do not allow for client ‘change of mind’ and/or reconsideration of the initial design brief.

Once my logo is finalised, do I own it?

Yes, the finished/file supplied work. The artwork stays intellectual property of the designer and therefore ninetyblack own the native (software) files (all files that were created in the process of designing the logo) however, we’re not here to pick a fight. On completion of the work and full invoice payment you become the owner of the final logo and print files, and receive full copyright over them. If for any reason you want the native (working) files we will package them on request, but to acknowledge the release of IP, there is a fee of 15% of the project value.

Why do I need a brand guidelines document?

This is critical. Once your brand is developed and ready to launch, we’ll give you your ‘brand bible’. This document guides you on the correct usage of your logo and outlines all the colours, typefaces, images and other design elements used in your brand. That way, whenever you give your logo to a 3rd party (e.g. a signwriter) you can rest assured that they know what colours and styles to use to guarantee consistency in the look and feel of your brand.

Can you help me get my stuff printed?

Absolutely! You’re an expert in your field, we’re experts in ours – we know the tricks of the trade when it comes to dealing with printers and what to recommend for the finish and budget you are wanting. At no additional cost we are happy to provide print management services, get quotes, and consult on the best options for you.
