Te Kōtuku Magazine for Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board
Highlighting achievements & successes with visual impact
Te Kōtuku is a quarterly magazine produced for beneficiaries of Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board. Te Kōtuku not only looks good, it tells a story in an interesting way that is easy to read and understandable. For the 19th issue, Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board asked ninetyblack to design a refreshed template. The brief was to create a more free-flowing and engaging layout from spread to spread.
Design
The new layout is more fluid, lively and fun, eschewing a more rigid, boxy feel from past issues. A new colour will be introduced in each issue. Starting with teal in this edition, bright colour rotations bring a fresh edge to each successive issue.
Compelling and effective design elements such as infographics and call out boxes are utilised throughout the spread. This helps simplify complex or difficult information, including timelines, processes, facts, results and data.
